Description
Loren provides a unique and special insight to southern Utah having grown up on a local dairy farm. His 21-years of news reporting about southern Utah people, places and events make “Southern Utah Memories” a special heritage collection. His career includes work for several weekly newspapers; including the Southern Utah News in Kanab, Utah; The Richfield Reaper in Richfield, Utah, the Lake Mead Monitor (now Moapa Valley Progress) in Logandale, Nevada and helped edit the Vernal Express weekly newspaper for two years while teaching journalism and English at Uintah High School in Vernal, Utah. His experience includes twelve an half years as a reporter for The Daily Spectrum in St. George and four-years as a correspondent for the Salt Lake Tribune. For the past 16 years, Loren has taught 7th grade U.S. history in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the author of the book “Milking Time: The History of Dairy Farming in Washington County, Utah” (2010).
He is an active member of the Washington County Historical Society.
Loren and his wife Sharee are the parents of four children and live in St. George.
